5 questions to MR ONETEAS
Which place do you find the most inspiring in Monaco?
My building’s roof top! It is an ideal place to think and has a great view point. I also like the Fontvielle harbor at night , with the view on the illuminated rock.
Your favourite restaurants ?
Moshi-Moshi in Fontvieille. The chef Toshimi Takiya is one of my friends. She revisits classical Mediterranean dishes such as the nicoise salad, into Mediterranean sushis
Your secret to stay in shape?
Keep traveling and meeting new people
One of your little daily pleasures ?
Waking up every day next to the woman I love, who inspires me and to whom I try to give back as much as she gives me. I want her to succeed and if tomorrow she becomes more famous that I am, I will be very proud.
A local artist you admire ?
Arman and Folon who both had their studios in Monaco,
Matéo Mornar who is a beautiful person, and great self-taught artist.
My wife, Jen Miller, who does « newspaper art » and creates magical art pieces with newspaper cuts. I also very much like the photo reporter Nick Danziger, and the photograph Guillaume Plisson a specialist of the sea. And also Patrick Gibelli who closed his body repair workshop to become a prolific artist who never stops!
Your secret addresses to share with our Little Big Monaco reader?
La Tête de Chien for the same reason as my building’s roof top: a raise above a city, watch an anthill of activity and step back.

Interview in the magazine tenten
Graffiti artist, painter, photographer and soon sculptor, LittlebigMonaco has met With Mr OneTeas, a self-taught street artist putting recycling in the very heart of his work.
Everyone in Monaco still remembers his exhibition of black and white photography’s on the Ni-box Wall from April to August 2016.It gathered 689 photographs in black and white, that Anthony Alberti, better known under his artist name, Mr OneTeas, had taken himself and then stuck on the wall during 3 days, standing on an electric nacelle. This project was part of the «Inside out project», created by the artist JR in 2011. Anthony undertook and financed the Monegasque version. «I wanted to show that Monaco is more than only Jet setters. On the contrary, 50.000 persons work there, behind the scene and constitute the soul of the principality. » Dustmen, cooks, bankers, doctors, waiters, as smiling, mocking, authentic faces, put next to each other, like bricks, symbolizing the Monaco wall.
The street is a museum
« Like many self-taught artists, I am keen on learning and on doing new things. Every day, I want to do something different. I am not academic. In street art, the museum is the street. And it is in the street the Mr One Teas, started painting, in abandoned places, totally by chance. After a car accident, an artist friend of him, Kräsh2, asked him to paint a graffiti on a wall with him. « I was twenty years old and I could not paint at alll then. I have not stopped since» If, he is first attracted by the illegal side of graffiti, street-art quickly became his passion. « There are many possible approaches in graffiti art, either it’s a territorial conquest with the objective to paint as many tags as possible, or it is to spread a message.
Campaigning for anti-consumerism
At the beginning he mostly likes the idea to leave colored traces in the urban landscape. Then his message became more and more militant. He picked up objects in the streets, dustbins, storerooms, redesigned and painted them, putting recycling at the very heart of his approach and campaigning against the consumer society and the planned obsolence. « We are all victims of this over consumption. I like the idea to use something which is not of interest anymore and to give it a second life in order to prompt a reaction and even create awareness.
He has for models and inspiration the new realists like Arman, Duchamp, César, Raymond Hains et Mimmo Rotella. Mr OneTeas, can very well cut a wine case into bricks, and paint on it like in his "All the same but different" serie or distort the McDonald logo to condemn the fastfood giant that «offers gifts to children to thank them to have eaten a food that poison them» . He painted Snow white and Pinnochio, both dressed up as the Ronald clown, one eating a poisoned burger and this other one with the liar's long nose and a « liar, liar » inscription behind him for his serie called « the Wack Donald's project ». The main principle of the project is to transform famous icons by contaminating them. The contamination is symbolized by their dress code in the colors of the famous clown. He extended this criticism of the junk food giant to other companies such as Monsanto, Coca-Cola, Dunkin Donuts, etc."
Against visual pollution
Advertising is another target of the artist. « We have been being abused by advertising for 50 years. » He mentions the No Ad project, born in the New York subway where street artists digitally replace the ads in the space intended for their display by their own work, through a free app or even others initaitives in the world that distort advertising by graphing over them or even tearing them off. All have the same objective, which is to fight against visual pollution in our cities.
We also feel a lot of generosity and tenderness in this artist who regularly gives pieces of his work for humanitarian fund raising actions for Aids, autism or cancer, And if his work is sold in art galleries, he also wants to create some affordable piece available to all.
Coming next: the New York marathon and sculpting
This perfectionist who admits not liking holidays, is working all the time, And only drinks tea. « I gave up drinking alcohols 7 years ago and I also quit smoking ».
He also likes a challenge, « I committed to run the New York marathon next year when I never ran! But I always need to push back my limits! Anthony promises to show us his first sculptures next year! He experimented with different techniques such as welding, moulding and bronze. After the marathon?
