LITTLE BIG PORTRAIT of MARIANA VERRANDO
Mariana Verrando is the founder of travel and lifestyle blog MVoyagerblog which has over 13K followers on Instagram. The dynamic 23 year old, who was born in Monaco, talks to us about her blog and reveals some of her favourite places to discover in our region.
Born and raised in Monaco, the blond Mariana is Danish by her mother and Monégasque by her father. A true digital native, Mariana started the blog in 2016, to share her travels and daily adventures through photography. “I have always loved photography and I have been taking photos since I was a child” she remembers. She has also always been passionate about restaurants and hotels so it came naturally to study Hospitality which, once completed in 2013, landed her a great job experience at Alain Ducasse's famous "Louis XV" restaurant and at the Monte-Carlo Bay hotel. She is currently working at the Monaco Tourist Office where she is part of the busy marketing team.
“My blog and my Instagram account are really a reflection of my life and of who I am” she says. “I like travelling, exploring and trying new things and this is exactly what my blog is about”. Mariana takes all the pictures herself except the ones of her, which are taken by her biggest fan, her boyfriend Rudy. When we ask her what makes her blog “ unique and so successful she says without hesitation: " I believe in integrity . I am always true to myself so I also only speak about products and places I really like. I also share all my pictures instantly, right in the moment, without using any kind of posting tool” she tells us. Like most of the bloggers we meet, Mariana confirms the most challenging part of a blogger’s life is to find the time to do everything, especially when you also have a full time job." Once I reached 10K followers, things got hectic and the workload increased significantly.” she says. Although the days are intense, she says she feels grateful to do what she loves and to have such a big recognition. “ It is a wonderful human experience. I have met so many people that I would never have met otherwise . And I feel blessed to have been able to discover many new, incredible places, thanks to my blog” she adds.
As usual when we meet local bloggers, we asked Mariana for some expert blogging tips:
-Be yourself! Be authentic! Show your own personality through your blog.
-Don’t give up! Tell yourself that if others can do it, you can do it as well. It is important to be surrounded by people who believe in you- “I feel very grateful because Rudy and my family are very supportive, they love my blog and that has definitely helped me” .
Mariana also shared with us her favourite instagram accounts:
@Kristinabazan from the blogger Kristina Bazan
@jannid form the swedish blogger Janni Deler
@Ohhcouture from the blogger Leonie Hanne
@Xeniaoverdose from the blogger Xenia Van Der Woodsen
Mariana would love to write more pieces in english and also translate her Copenhagen adventures into Danish so it would be easier for her family in Denmark to follow her. She is also thinking about sharing more videos on a more regular basis . “It requires a lot of confidence, I still feel a bit too shy to do this” she confesses. However we here at LittlebigMonaco have no doubt that her videos will be a great success and that this dynamic young woman has a bright future ahead!
